Spring 2025 Programs
- Literacy Workshops: We are partnering with Houston County Family Connection for the spring 2025. This workshop is for parents/guardians of children 0-8 years old. The workshop will provide learning tips and strategies to help your child learn to read. Classes will be offered January 28 and February 25 from 5:30pm-7:00pm. Registration is required. - Beginner Canva Training: Learn the basics and how to make dynamic flyers, worksheets, and documents. Bring your laptop and mouse! If you do not have these items let us know and one can be provided. The workshop will be held on February 19 from 10:00-11:00am. Click here to register.
- Pro Canva Training: For more seasoned Canva users, we will offer a workshop on February 19 from 4:00-5:00pm. A Pro account is recommended but not necessary for the training. Click here to register.
- Community Garden: We are excited to open the Lindsey Student Support Center Community Garden. In collaboration with our community partner, Yosef's Coat Ministries, participants can enhance the garden by supporting a garden bed. We look forward to filling the garden with herbs, vegetables and flowers, creating a welcome space for the community. The garden will be open to participants on Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in September, October, November, February, March, April, and May. We are excited to offer Parent Workshops for parents/families of students with disabilities. Marina Jones our Parent Mentor is eager to work with you to explain IEP's, explore summer camp resources, NOW and COMP waiver application assistance, managing screen time, and emergency preparedness.

- Houston Cares Clinic: Houston Cares is a partnership between the Houston County School District and community partners to be hosted at the Lindsey Student Support Center. The clinic will provide medical, dental, and vision care for residents of Houston County. All services are free, and all practitioners are volunteers. Partners include Houston County Health Department, Trinity School of Medicine, Flint Energies, Central Georgia Technical College, Middle Georgia Community Action Agency, Peach Care, WIC, and many more. The Houston Cares Clinic will have services available February 7 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on February 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration is encouraged and walk-ins are welcome. - Resource Room: Our center provides clothing, household goods and hygiene products for families in needs. It is open to the public from 12:00-5:00pm on the second Tuesday of every month.
